Judah B: I found this eggshell in tall grass on a sandy island in the river with my cousin. I like that it's a big shell. My dad thinks it's from a goose.
NATURE: Ages 5-7
Judah B: I took this picture while standing in the river. I like the mountain nearby but couldn't get it all in the photo. I like to watch the cars go by on the bridge.

Each entrant can select and submit one photo in each themed category (PLAY, LEARN, NATURE). Voting is open to the public. The 3 photos in each age group that receive the most votes (and meet our eligibility requirements) by the close of contest on April 20th will become our finalists. A contest winner will be chosen from the finalists after careful review by our judges.
Contest is open April 2 through April 20, 2021.
Viewers can vote for their favourite.
Voting closes on April 27, 2021
The winner will be chosen on May 1, 2021 at 12pm. We will contact the winner via email and display it on the contest site.
Play is a physical or mental leisure activity that is undertaken purely for enjoyment or amusement. Play can take many forms. Freeze a detail or scene that captures playing.
To Learn is the process to acquire knowledge or skills through experience, study or by being taught. Learning is a life-long adventure. We are looking for images inspired by the learning process – in a literal or abstract way. Show us how to learn, show us the funny, the heart-warming or the challenging.
Nature encompasses the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth as opposed to humans or human creations. Show us something from that physical world, uncover nature, its splendor and beauty or the dark hidden side of it.
The deadline for submitting entries is April 20, 2021.
Send us your best original photographs. Anything that incorporates or embraces that selected theme is perfect for this contest. Clear, simple photos of your subject are great, but let your imagination go wild!
All entries must be 9 megabytes or smaller in size, in JPG or JPEG format, and at least 600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).
Each Entrant can submit up to three (3) images, one (1) per theme category. An Entrant however may only have one photo selected as a finalist.
It is our intent to place all photos in the Contest gallery after they have been checked for content suitability.
Descriptions are a great way to interest others in your photographs. Please tell us briefly about your picture, we call this the “Story of your photograph”. Where did you take it? How did you get the shot?
Your digital entries do not have to be created with a digital camera. They can be from your phone or scans of negatives. They must be submitted in a digital jpeg format. They must be your very own original photographs.
If you are our winner:
1. Please be prepared to send us the original digital image of your winning photograph.
2. We will prepare and forward you a mounted enlargement of your photo (matching the submitted file size).
3. We will feature your photo at a public exhibit in Vernon, BC.
4. We will forward a mounted enlargement of your winning photo to your school (if attending)
